Attend a monthly meeting of the CAC, appointed by Jefferson County and Port Townsend City governments to develop a Climate Action Plan for the entire Jefferson County community.
Citizens Climate Lobby - Port Townsend
Work with elected representatives at the national, state, and local level to create a political will for a sustainable climate.
Non-Motorized Transportation Advisory Board
Volunteer with NMTAB for projects such as neighborhood trail building. This City Council advisory committee promotes walking and biking for recreation and transportation throughout the city.
Northwest Earth Institute - Port Townsend
Participate in small-group discussion courses to examine personal values and habits, create meaningful community, and consider ways to take action. Courses offered: Global Warming; Sustainable Living; Menu for the Future; Voluntary Simplicity; Healthy Children; Sense of Place; Deep Ecology.
Jefferson County Extension - WSU
Take one of their in-depth courses such as Master Gardeners or Water/Beach Watchers to become a better steward of our land and environment.
Marine Science Center – Port Townsend
Learn what we can do to protect our marine and coastal environment and the dangers global warming.
EarthDay EveryDay! Festival
Attend this educational extravaganza for people of all ages with FREE speakers, demonstrations, hands-on activities and entertainment. Volunteer to help stage this event.
